The Comfort Ortho Plus Range of mattresses is comfortable and light and topped with memory foam. A full  1 Inch (20mm) of Visco Elastic Memory Foam foam is supported by 5 Inch (130mm) of Reflex PU Foam.

The Comfort Ortho Plus Range of Mattresses is 6 inches (150mm) deep.

 Memory Foam is sometimes called Visco Elastic Foam.

Visco Elastic Foam was developed in 1966 at NASA’s Ames Research Centre to improve the safety of aircraft cushions. One of the scientists, Charles A Yost of the Stencel Aero Engineering Corporation named the temperature-sensitive foam “temper foam”. During the early 1980s NASA released memory foam to the public domain. Contrary to widespread belief, memory foam was not used in any space flights.

The sandwich construction is enclosed in an anti-bacterial and hypo-allergenic, removable, washable, Double Jersey cover.

The structure of the Memory Foam and the Reflex Foam helps to prevent dust mites from colonising the mattress. Hence some relief from asthma attacks or allergy symptoms may be a benefit. There is a belief that dust mites can trigger asthma attacks.
